God Is Involved

To realize God’s involvement with His creation, we need to start at the beginning, when man was first created. God created man in His image so that He and man could fellowship with one another. It is exciting to read in 1 Corinthians 1:9, “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” ‘Called,’ kaleo in the Greek means: to invite one to participate in it, and enjoy it. ‘Fellowship’ is translated from the Greek word koinonia meaning: fellowship, association, communion, and participation. You have been invited to commune and enjoy fellowship with the Son of God! Then, we read in 1 John 1:3c, “and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.” In this verse, the word koinonia means: fellowship and intimacy. We are to have an intimate relationship with God!
We get a glimpse of the fellowship which was common between God, Adam, and Eve when He sought them out to spend time with them in the Garden of Eden, (Genesis 3:8 and 9) After Adam and Eves’ fall (sin of disobedience), God provided for them, as we see in Genesis 3:21, “And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.”
We know that God has always remained involved with man throughout the generations. We read in the Bible of many instances, negative or positive, where God’s hand was at work. There are clear accounts in the Old Testament of His working in the lives of Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and many others throughout their journeys. We also know of Enoch and Noah, who according to the Scriptures, “walked” with God. Abraham was called God’s friend. James 2:23, “and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness"--and he was called a friend of God.” “Friend, philos, in the Greek means: especially dear to God, peculiarly favored with his intimacy. Then we learn that David was called a man after God’s own heart. Acts 13:22b (NIV), “'I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.'“
The greatest involvement of all, without question, is when God became man in the person of Jesus Christ and dwelled among us to provide the way of redemption or reconciliation for us. We were sinners who had no way to gain restored relationship with our holy Creator.
Then we see instances (too numerous to count) of God’s involvement in the lives of His people in the New Testament.
As we journey through this time we have on the earth, we will find many ways God has been involved in our lives and in the lives of others.
I have heard distraught suffering men and women question if God is really concerned with what goes on in their lives or even if He cares about the condition of the world.
Even though at times, He may seem to be absent, He is not. God is always aware of us and of what is needed in our lives. Psalm 139: 1-3 (NLT), “O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away. 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.”
Our Heavenly Father is always watching over us with keen interest in what is going on with us. Psalm 33:13-15, “The LORD looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man; 14 from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, 15 he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.” He is always watching and aware! 2 Chronicles 16:9 a and b, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.” The phrase ‘run to and fro’ means: go eagerly, and quickly. He searches the whole earth so that He can strengthen or hold strongly those who love and do their best to follow Him.
There are so many ways that God is involved in our lives and yet, very often, we are not even aware of His presence or involvement in our circumstances.
Look at what Proverbs 15:3 (CSB) reveals, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” Then we read in Psalm 121:7 and 8 (NASB20), “The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. 8 The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time and forever.” Grab ahold of this! I don’t want you to miss it! He guards and protects us when we come or go - and not just for today, but from this time and forever!
God desires good things for us and works in our lives to that end. Isaiah 55:8 and 9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God’s ways and thoughts are higher that ours. We don’t perceive or comprehend all of His ways or thoughts.
We can hardly imagine, let alone grasp, what we read in Psalm 139:16 and 17, (NLT), “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!”
Who He is, goes beyond our ability to comprehend or to express in words.
We have had many experiences where we have realized, after the fact, that what took place could only be a “God-thing”. We realized after looking back in hindsight that the results could only have come about because of God’s involvement! Praise Him!
The Word of God reveals many of the ways He is involved in our lives!
When or How does God Intervene in the lives of His people:
In times of temptation - 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT), “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
He chastens us - Hebrews 12:5 (NKJV), “And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise (regard lightly) the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him” Chastening (paideia) means: discipline (whatever in adults also cultivates the soul, especially by correcting mistakes and curbing the passions).
He blesses us. Ephesians 1:3 (NLT), “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” Eulogeo translated ‘blessed’ means: to cause to prosper, to make happy , to bestow blessings upon.
He tests us. James 1:2 and 3 (NLT), “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested (proved), your endurance has a chance to grow.” Deuteronomy 8:2, “And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.”
He empowers us. Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” ’Strengthens’ translated from endynamoo means: to make strong, endue with strength, empower, and enable.
He gives us wisdom. James 1:5 (NIV), “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
He is transforming us. 2 Corinthians 3:18 , “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
He provides for us. Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT), “So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
He intercedes for us. Romans 8:34, “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.” Hebrews 7:25, “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.” Romans 8:25, “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”
Wow! It is absolutely amazing to see how extensively God is involved in our daily lives!
We may not always be aware of His presence or intervention, and sad to say, we do not always look to Him, however, He is always there!
Hebrews 13:5c, “I will never leave you nor forsake you." Forsake means: leave helpless, leave in a lurch, leave in straits. He will not ever leave you helpless. Psalm 46:7a (NLT), “The LORD of Heaven's Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.” Amazing! Matthew 28:20b (CSB), “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
He has our back and desires only good things for us.
He is always involved!
Remember, He always completes what He begins in us !
Philippians 1:6, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.“
