A Call to Prayer and Intercession
As I was preparing to finish my blog for this week, I felt the Lord nudging me to go a different direction.
Our nation and the church are at a crossroad. NOW is the time when the decision that is made will set the course for our future for both the nation and the church. So, I strongly feel the need for intercessory prayer.
On the 26th of September, a group of our spiritual leaders will be gathering on the mall in Washington D.C. to confess and repent for the sins of this nation and of the church. The gathering is being called, "The Return" - A national and global day of prayer and repentance. They are expecting crowds to number in the hundreds of thousands. For those of us who cannot attend, we are being encouraged to spiritually join them from wherever we are.
Also on the morning of September 26th, Franklin Graham is having a "Washington Prayer March 2020" At the end of the March, the two groups will merge at "The Return". The more people joining them, the better. Hopefully millions from the United States and around the world will unite with them in spirit and join them in confessing the sins of the nation, of the church, and even their own personal sins. We, as a nation, need to cry out to God for His mercy and favor.
Last week, we discussed the scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
This is such a critical time for us as a nation and a church. My words are inadequate in expressing how important this time is. We are not talking about a political issue, but rather, a spiritual one. The battle we are facing is for the soul of the United States and the church. We cannot sit on the fence and "let be what will be"! Inaction on our part, is support for one side or another. We often say, "What can I do? I am only one person." Well, here is your chance to join with a multitude of others.
Aligning ourselves with God's Word and His promises, is a part of spiritual warfare. This act breaks the legal hold that satan uses to keep us in bondage. As we stand on the Word of God, satan's power is broken. During Jesus' time in the wilderness, He defeated satan's temptations by saying, "It is written." Then He declared God's Word, which is truth.
I pray you will join me on the 26th and continue, every day, to proclaim God's Word as truth as you pray. According to Isaiah 55:11 "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
I am going to close this post with intercessory prayer. I hope you will join me. If you don't know how, then pray along with me.
Gracious Merciful Father,
I come to You in the Name of and by the blood of Jesus. I give You all glory, honor, praise and worship, for You and You alone are worthy. You are the Creator and Sustainer of all. You have created all things, including me, out of Your love. Your desire for us is for our good, that we may be blessed in all that we do. You have declared that You will know our love for You as we obey Your commands. As individuals, as the church, and as a nation, we have allowed the sins of the world to infiltrate our every day lives and even the way we think.
Lord, I desire to confess my sins, which are many. I have become complacent and apathetic concerning the work of Your kingdom, winning and discipling lost souls. I have not sought Your face with my whole heart and mind. I have let the things of this world to become more important than You. I have forgotten to protect my heart from the influence of the world. I have not kept a watch over the words that I speak, and according to Your Word, those words cause life or death. Help me Lord, to speak words of life, blessing, an faith. Search my heart, Lord, and show me whatever is in my life that displeases You and I will confess and repent of those things.
As a nation, we have fallen far from being one nation under God. We have chosen to follow our own way and have rejected You and Your ways. Many of our leaders have shaken their fists in Your face and declared we will not accept Your rule over us. They have removed declarations of Your rule from public places and have replaced them with idols. They have passed laws allowing the murder of babies, the marriage of homosexuals, and other immoral acts of depravity. They call good bad and bad good. They hate You and Your people, the church. They and others not only approve of their depravity, but celebrate it.
As the church, we have allowed all of this to happen. We sat back and did nothing. We have allowed ourselves to become complacent and apathetic. We have allowed the enemy to steal back, the power and authority that God delegated to the church. The church was meant to have dominion, to rule and reign, and yet has allowed satan to lull us to sleep. Father God, it is time for the church to wake up and take their rightful place. Lord, You have allowed Your warning signs to come, i.e. 9/11, covid-19, hurricanes, earthquakes and more. To this point, the church has yet to fully respond. Nor has the nation. Father, wake up our pastors, evangelists, prophets, apostles and all church leaders to what is happening and cause them to sound the alarm, as the watchmen whom they are appointed to be. Then, cause Your family to receive their revelation.
As believers in Christ, we need to take and use the authority given to us by Jesus. He said that in His Name, we would do His works and take the kingdom by force. (John 14:12-14 and Matthew 11:12)
In the Name of Jesus, I bind up every force of the enemy that is trying to destroy the church and our nation. Jesus said that what we bind on earth is also bound in heaven. Whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)
As one who bears Jesus' delegated authority, I bind all principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this age and all spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) I bind them and pull them down, for my weapons are not carnal but mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:4)
I bind up the spirits of deception, murder, lawlessness, pride, greed, godlessness, perversion, and all those who would steal, kill and destroy. In the Name of Jesus, I loose all who have been bound by the deception of satan and those whose minds have been corrupted.
I pray, Father, that Your Spirit of Truth will invade the minds and spirits of the people of God. I pray that Your people will wake up, confess, and repent. I pray that there will be revival and a move of God as we have never seen before. I pray for that manifestation of Your glory which You desire to come upon this nation and world.
In Jesus' Name I pray,
Amen
May God pour out His grace upon you as you continue to pray!
